Simran and CNN do not mix. The mind will stick with the images that it is the newscaster fed. Tomorrows’ meditation starts TODAY, with this very second. Just imagine whose face you want to see in your medicine newscasters. Turn off the TV — do Simran, be in his presence. You’ve death the mind another blow.

Putting in the effort to do Simran makes everything seem easier. But, when the effort to do Simran is not there, one can really feel the negative pull; it’s like slipping down into a quagmire — where we get tossed around like a feather in a hurricane, everything — even the smallest task — becomes so laborious. So it’s just better to do Simran and rise above.

Excerpts from Satsangs

Tell the mind, “Get up, sit down and shut up!” immediately upon rising for the day. Get into this habit every day, for two and a half hours daily.

When going about the day, never become annoyed, thinking, “I don’t  like this person or that person.” Thinking this way creates a bond with that very person and we make ourselves miserable. It’s more beneficial to do Simran, think of Master and offer the gift of kindness, in his name, to everyone we come in contact with. We are here for such a short while, only to finish off our karmas. Every soul has personal struggles and difficulties in life to overcome. If we wish him to show us kindness and mercy, we must show the same to others.
